The Highway Superintendent is an elected official; Term is four years.  He is responsible

for Highway Department employees, maintenance and purchase of equipment, supplies,

scheduling town road maintenance and improvements, snow and ice removal, and

roadway signs, for all Town roads. 

There are over 76 miles of town owned roadway in Tusten.  The Highway Superintendent

also formulates the budget for this Department.  Applies for CHIPS (Capital Highway

Improvement Program) Program funding from New York State.  As necessary applies for

FEMA and SEMO funding after road emergencies.

Notice is hereby given that the Town of Tusten will receive SEALED bids on stone.  Specifications for stone bids are available at the Town Clerk’s office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays  9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  Said bids shall be mailed or delivered to the Office of the Town Clerk, 210 Bridge Street, P.O. Box 195, Narrowsburg, NY  12764 clearly marked “STONE BID” no later than 12:00 PM on Friday, March 10, 2018.  Bids will be publicly opened, read and awarded at the regular scheduled Town of Tusten Board Meeting on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 6:30 PM or soon thereafter.  The Town Board and Superintendent of Highways reserve the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities in the bidding and to re-advertise for new bids.  Assurance of Equal Opportunity and Non-Collusion certificates required.

Box 195, Narrowsburg NY  12764 clearly marked “ANTI-SKID SAND BID” no later than 12:00 PM on Friday, March 10, 2018.  Bids will be publically opened, read and awarded at the regular scheduled Town of Tusten Board Meeting on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 6:30 PM or soon thereafter.  The Town Board and Superintendent of Highways reserve the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities in the bidding and to re-advertise for new bids.  Assurance of Equal Opportunity and Non-Collusion certificates required.
